Still here - still hobbling around

 and still finding beauty,
in the midst of pain,
every day.

Still have my version of Adult Art Camp over here
and there's no end of the fun to be had.
Will it make me rich? No.
Will my kids have more stuff to throw away when I go to a home or die? You bet.
Neither of which will deter me from continuing to play.

I've 'discovered' a process for creating beautiful altered pages
from discarded National Geographics;
using a cleaning solvent called Citrasol.
The process has been around for years - at least judging by the videos I found on You Tube.
It's safe, non toxic and smells wonderful -
even the paper retains a citrusy smell when it's dried.
And the patterns are fabulous;
very impressionistic and other wordly.

I will use some as paper sources for collage pieces
(see below)
but I'm also tempted to leave some pages whole
and add components to them.
my favorite, so far.
I'm also still making paper dolls for the menagerie
(introducing, Poppy who, once she realized she'd never fit in with the rest of the penguins,
embraced off the shoulder dresses and recipes from the 70's and
the little duckling who wanted to be strong like his Daddy)
 I also made a companion for "Audrey"
who I named "Just Ducky"
Actually, I think Sam is going to help Nanny write some adventures
that Just Ducky and Audrey will have together.

This certainly isn't the life I had for 40+ years -
raising children as a single parent and working in child abuse;
its a smaller, quieter life -
but it suits me.

Now, if only this pain would diminish,
things really would be Just Ducky.
