Birthday Boy

He was supposed to be 'Benjamin' or 'Nicholas'.

He was supposed to be born in early November.

He has always had his own distinctive personality, with his own sense of timing.

It's not always been easy to parent a child whose gift, and burden, is not being "a cookie cutter kid"; one who sees things differently than most others.

But there hasn't been a day in 29 years that's been dull...

and through all of it, I've been grateful for his presence in my life.
