I love the color, the heft, the number and the reality of her.
But my Osprey 'Ariel' 65
simply can't go on the Camino with me
being referred to as 'Ariel';
too Walt Disney,
too many visions of ginger mermaids;
even though I'll be ending up at the sea
in Finisterre,
it just felt like the wrong name
for my backpack.
Meet Beatrix:
Beatrix is a combination of "viatrix,"
Latin for a female voyager or traveler
and "beatus," Latin for "blessed."
The name thus means something
equivalent to
"blessed traveler."
There ya go...
MUCH better.
