I've been told

it's not normal to:

* notify the investigator for the Prosecuting Attorney about the death of your mother before notifying siblings...because you know the news will impact and complicate 'the docket' and his life far more than it will impact or inconvenience theirs.

* have to use Facebook to let your sister know your mother died - because you have no working phone number or address for her.

* get sympathy cards from the Detective Bureaus and the States Attys offices in three jurisdictions before funeral plans are finalized.

*feel more surrounded by people who care at work and church than within your immediate family.

Welcome to my world.

Friends are family you choose for yourself. ~
